Pilots’ safe boarding of ships

Additional dues will be applied in case of the elevator malfunction and disallowing pilots to use the internal stairs.

All vessels shall comply to the following before entering the Canal:

1. Vessels elevator should be in good working condition during pilots embark and disembark of the vessels to avoid fatigue and / or injuries due to climbing higher floors.

2. All pilots must have access to the vessels accommodation internal stairs to reach to the bridge during their embarkation and disembarkation.

Failing to comply to item 1 or / and 2 mentioned above, the additional dues ( 3000 $ ) three thousand U.S.Dollars will be applied on subsequent transits with the same defect.

S.C.A considers all precautionary measures as to its all staff and ensures they are fully vaccinated and that they regular medical tests prior to boarding all vessels.

This circular takes effects as of 01/01/2022
