The Bangladesh Shipping Agents’ Association (BSAA) had issued a notice about online applications with erroneous/false information hampering the timely issuance of ship’s flag certificate waiver and proper observance of the country's Flag-Bearing Ship (Protection Of Interests) Act 2019.
According to Bangladesh's flag-carrying ship (self-defense) law, the request to load goods to the foreign ship owner or his representative must be made within 15 working days. After loading or unloading cargo on a foreign flagged vessel, a Certificate of Waiver cannot be applied for.
False information must not be included in the application. The form must be completely properly and, after applying, applicant should visit/follow-up the website regularly.
Ships carrying the flag of Bangladesh (Properly the ship owner or his representative in accordance with the Protection of Interest Act 19) must apply online for the Certificate of Waiver.
Applications containing false or defective information will be rejected.
