Due to the Youth & Sports Festival public holiday in Turkey on 19 May, all of the country’s official institutions and banks will be closed on this date.
Vessel operators are therefore urged to make arrangements for spares, provisions, etc required for this day well in advance.
As some ports may suspend their operations or increase charges by 50% for official services such as pilotage, towage, mooring and customs, vessels should check prior to calling at any Turkish port.
A 50% pilotage surcharge will be valid for Turkish Straits on this date.
