The Immigration and Emigration Department of Sri Lanka has launched a new online visa issuing system.
As per the new system, the fees for the issue of visas, necessary amenities and the duration of stays in Sri Lanka will be as detailed in the gazette notification (2360/24) released on 27 November 2023.
According to the new system, a Standard Tourist Visa valid for 180 days will be USD 75 for non-SAARC countries and USD 35 for SAARC countries. The duration of each stay of this visa will be 60 days.
Multiple entry tourist visas for one, two, five and ten years have also been introduced.
Tourist visas for India, Russia, Malaysia, China, Japan, Thailand and Indonesia are exempt from charges, and can be applied for until 30 April 2024.
In addition to the passport, GAC Sri Lanka now requires the following documents to apply for visas on behalf of Principals:
- Passport size photo (white background)
- The personal email addresses of the persons for whom we are applying Business VISA.
- The personal mobile numbers of the persons for whom we are applying Business VISA
- E-ticket of the persons for whom we are applying Business VISA
As the agent, GAC Sri Lanka will create and upload the following:
- Letter of Invitation (LOI)
- Hotel Booking voucher
Business VISA Charges have been revised as follows (inclusion of system processing charges):
- Personnel of SAARC country nationalities: USD 58.55
- Personnel of non-SAARC country nationalities: USD 100.77
