New oil jetties under development

07 Jul 2022 / Deendayal, India

To cope up with the demand of growing trade, Deendayal Port (Kandla) is developing two new oil jetties - Oil Jetty No.07 & 08 - capable of handling larger vessels up to 65000 & 80000 MT (DWT) respectively with 13 metres depth.

Works are in progress and are scheduled for completion in September 2022 and April 2023, respectively.

Construction of a four-lane approach road for better connectivity is part of the plan.

Deendayal is India’s largest liquid handling port, handling all types of liquid bulk cargo. It currently has six oil jetties with a combined capacity of 12 MMTPA, which are under full utilisation. Once Oil Jetties 07 & 08 are in operation, capacity will be enhanced by around 5.5 MMTPA, which will help reduce waiting period for vessels and increase the volume of import/export cargo at Kandla.
