New ENS Filing

02 Dec 2024 / Netherlands

Since July 2024, a new EU law has been in effect. Starting from 4th December, compliance requires entering the ENS declaration directly into the EU Shared Trader Interface using a revised process.

To comply with the new rules and to enter a proper ENS filing, the following are required for each discharge call:
* Master BL or Straight BL (single filing)
* HS Code (minimal up to 6 digits / more than 6 digits = better)

* EORI number seller
* EORI number buyer
* Method of payment in case of CNF (prepaid)

Without this information, the ENS declaration cannot be properly submitted, preventing the vessel from entering and the cargo from being discharged.

For sensitive information, multi-filing of the ENS is an option. In such cases, the EORI number of the company providing the sensitive information is required for the ship agent to authorize them to complete the filing.
