Piling works will start in the vicinity of the causeway. During piling works, the navigable openings will be partially occupied by NMDC marine equipment and barges for the installation works, however, part of the causeway will still be open…

…Vessels should pass at a safe speed between the barge temporary anchor mooring buoys which is lit and connected to Norwegian marker buoys and the causeway side.

Vessel shall provide a firm ETA at the Causeway construction area, not less than three (3) hours in advance. Should conditions change, the VTS to be immediately advised. Information to be provided:

  • Type of vessel;
  • Direction of transit (North or Southbound);
  • ETA at Causeway.

Early and clear communications between the vessel and VTS must be established and maintained until the vessel has cleared the Causeway. The primary working channel for the VTS is VHF Channel 14, but VHF Channel 16 should also be routinely monitored to listen for traffic.

Works will be performed during the daytime only.

All vessel masters, port, terminals and waterway users area advised to exercise extra caution and obtain permission from the VTS before passing the Causeway area.

All other information in Port NTM No.17/22 and 01/23 will remain valid.
