Marine soil investigation works at Gul Basin

Marine soil investigation works are being conducted at Gul Basin until 12 August.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.09 of 2024, works are being carried out from 0700 to 1900 hours daily - including Sundays and public holidays - at 45 Gul Road Waterfront, Singapore.

The working locations are as follows:

Soil investigation works will be carried out by means of borehole drilling using jack-up barge. The work barge, with tug boats in attendance, will have a circular safety working zone of 30 meters radius centered at the barge.

Tugboats will be used to shift the barges between boreholes location. The shifting of the barges will be carried out during daylight hours only.

A safety boat will be deployed in the vicinity of the working area to warn other craft of the project work.

Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area,
b) Maintain a proper lookout,
c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution,
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 22 (Jurong Control),
e) Communicate with VHF Channel 22 (Jurong Control) for assistance if required.
