Marine soil investigation in West Jurong Channel

Marine soil investigations are underway in West Jurong Channel until 30 September.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.63 of 2024, the works are being conducted 24 hours daily - including Sundays and Public Holidays - at the following borehole co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):

BH04) 01°17.089'N / 103°39.353'E
BH05) 01°16.932'N / 103°39.138'E
BH06) 01°16.915'N / 103°39.295'E
BH07) 01°16.862'N / 103°39.952'E
BH08) 01°16.802'N / 103°39.813'E
BH09) 01°16.906'N / 103°40.043'E
BH10) 01°16.999'N / 103°39.230'E
BH11) 01°16.695'N / 103°39.603'E
BH12) 01°16.746' N /103°39.712'E

The soil investigation work is being carried out by spud/jack-up barges assisted by tug boats. The safety zone is a circular area of 30m radius centered at the barges.

Safety boats are in attendance to warn and direct craft in the vicinity to keep clear of working area.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 22 (Jurong Control);
and
e) Communicate with Jurong Control on VHF Channel 22 for assistance, if required.
