From 10 August to 30 September, marine soil investigation is being conducted in the vicinity of East Jurong Channel.
According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.71 of 2024, the work is being carried out 24 hours daily - including Sundays and Public Holidays - at the following borehole co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
EBH – 1) 01°16.251'N / 103°44.567'E
EBH – 2) 01°16.521'N / 103°44.517'E
EBH – 3) 01°16.406'N / 103°44.717'E
EBH – 5) 01°16.811'N / 103°44.983'E
EBH – 7) 01°16.753'N / 103°44.905'E
The soil investigation work will be carried out by spud / jack-up barges assisted by tug boats. The safety zone is a circular area of 30m radius centered at the barges.
Safety boats will be in attendance to warn and direct craft in the vicinity to keep clear of working area.
When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 22 (Jurong Control), VHF Channel 68 (Sinki Control);
and
e) Communicate with Jurong Control on VHF Channel 22 and Sinki Control on VHF Channel 68 for assistance, if required.
