Marine site investigation off Tap Mun Pier, Grass Island

For approximately four months, marine site investigation works involving soil sampling, in-situ testing and geophysical survey will be carried out within the area bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (F) and the adjacent pier:
(A) 22° 28.213’N / 114° 21.523’E
(B) 22° 28.199’N / 114° 21.521’E
(C) 22° 28.193’N / 114° 21.483’E
(D) 22° 28.274’N / 114° 21.497’E
(E) 22° 28.270’N / 114° 21.530’E
(F) 22° 28.219’N / 114° 21.524’E

The works will be carried out by two jack-up barges and one work boat. One work boat and two tugboats will provide assistance. The number of vessels engaged in the works will change from time to time to suit operational requirements. Vessels engaged in the works will display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations.

A working area of approximately 50 metres will be established around each barge. Yellow flashing lights will be installed at the four corners of each jack-up barge to indicate its position.

The hours of work will be from 0800 to 1900 hours. No works will be carried out on Sundays and public holidays. Vessels employed for the works will stay in the works area outside the hours of work.

Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution.
