Marine site investigation at Tung Chung

For approximately five months, marine site investigation works involving drilling of boreholes are being carried out in the following locations (WGS 84 Datum):
(A) 22° 17.594’N 113° 56.222’E
(B) 22° 17.590’N 113° 56.220’E
(C) 22° 17.568’N 113° 56.235’E
(D) 22° 17.567’N 113° 56.245’E
(E) 22° 17.558’N 113° 56.265’E
(F) 22° 17.554’N 113° 56.263’E
(G) 22° 17.549’N 113° 56.280’E
(H) 22° 17.546’N 113° 56.289’E

The works are being carried out by one jack-up barge or one floating barge. One tugboat and two work boats provide assistance.

A working area of approximately 40 metres around each barge is established. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights are laid to mark the positions of the anchors extending from the floating barge.

Yellow flashing lights are installed at the four corners of the jack-up barge to indicate its position.

The hours of work are from 0700 to 1900 hours. No works are carried out on Sundays and public holidays. Vessels employed for the works stay in the works locations outside the hours of work.

Vessels engaged in the operations display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations.

Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution.
