Marine pyrotechnic display at Aberdeen Channel

A marine pyrotechnic display for Yun Lee 50th Anniversary will take place at the Aberdeen Channel at 1930 hours on Friday, 17 March 2023.

The Pyrotechnic Special Effect Materials (PSEMs) will be discharged from a firing barge within the Restricted Area (RA) bounded by the shore and the straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (D):
(A) 22° 14.171’ N 114° 09.626’ E
(B) 22° 14.178’ N 114° 09.753’ E
(C) 22° 13.963’ N 114° 09.757’ E
(D) 22° 13.968’ N 114° 09.676’ E

The RA will be established from 1400 hours to 2100 hours on the event day. A yellow marker buoy will be laid at the coordinate (C) to indicate the boundaries of the RA. No vessel will be allowed to enter or remain within the RA during the aforesaid period, except the firing barge, Government launches and vessels with special permission from the Director of Marine.

Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution and keep away from the RA.

In case of inclement weather, the event will be cancelled, and all PSEMs will be disposed by discharging at South-West Lamma Island or South of Soko Island on 18 or 19 March 2023.
