Marine infrastructure expansion construction work

18 Jun 2024 / Dampier, Australia

The Port of Dampier will soon undergo a significant expansion of its marine infrastructure with construction of the Dampier Cargo Wharf Projects starting 1 July.

The projects will be constructed in stages and involves the delivery of two new multi-user facilities – The Dampier Bulk Handling Facility (Stage 1) and the Dampier Link Bridge (Stage 2), and a major refurbishment of the existing Dampier Cargo Wharf (Stage 3).

From 1 July, the Port of Dampier will temporarily have reduced laydown capacity. Vessel scheduling and berthing applications will be heavily reliant on cargo readiness as outlined in the Variation to DCW Berthing Protocols. Demand forecasting will become critical to minimising operational impacts and disruptions.
