Mandatory landing of garbage

Garbage landing shall be mandatory for all vessels calling at Karaikal Port with effect from 1 January 2025.

…The garbage must be disinfected/segregated and packed in leak-proof bags in advance. As per DG shipping regulation, all garbage to be declared and ANF form filled up and raised in Swach Sagar Portal.

A registered vendor should be engaged for landing of garbage and entry made in the portal prior to the arrival of the vessel. The garbage should be disposed of during the stay of the vessel. Karaikal Port has registered vendors and is equipped to handle garbage.

All garbage landing charges shall be as per the Karaikal Port BPTS.
