07 Jul 2023 / Antwerp-Bruges, Belgium
The Port of Antwerp Bruges, the port community and NxtPort have agreed that from 15 January 2024, all transport operators will be required to pick up containers based on Certified Pick up.
When Certified Pick up will be operational at all terminals and for all modes of transport in January, pin codes for picking up a container will be completely eliminated. This means that the import process for a container at all Antwerp container terminals will be done entirely through Certified Pick up.
In the coming months, we will make Certified Pick up available for barge and rail at the terminals. Afterwards, pilot projects will start at each terminal, and the link with Secure Container Release will also be complete for the shipping companies involved.
