Maintenance and dredging works in Gul Basin

Maintenance and dredging works are being carried out in Gul Basin until 31 August.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.57 of 2024, the works are being conducted 24 hours daily - including Sundays and public holidays - within the working area bounded by the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):

Dredging works will be carried out by grab dredger which will be held in position by four anchors. The dredged materials will be loaded onto hopper barges. Pusher tugboat will push the loaded hopper barge to the designated dumping ground to dispose the dredged materials.

A circular safe working area of 70 meters radius centred from the dredger will be maintained during the working hours.

A safety boat will be in attendance at all times to warn and direct craft in the vicinity to keep clear of working area.

Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a. Keep well clear and not to enter the work area;
b. Maintain a proper lookout;
c. Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
d. Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 22 (Jurong Control);
e. Communicate with Jurong control for assistance, if required.
