Kusu Pilgrimage Season 2024

02 Oct 2024 / Singapore

The Kusu Pilgrimage Season (KPS 2024) will take place from 3 to 31 October.

During this period, ferries carrying passengers operated by Singapore Island Cruise & Ferry Services Pte Ltd will cross East Keppel Fairway when plying between the Marina South Pier (MSP) and Kusu Island (Pulau Tembakul). Mariners shall keep a proper lookout for these ferries and navigate with extra caution when in the vicinity of the recommended routes.

Traffic movement within MSP has been divided in two routes. The waters within the breakwater of MSP are “no wake zone”. Harbour craft and ferries operating within the waters of MSP are reminded to slow down as far as practicable to reduce causing wakes.

Master of ferries and harbour craft shall proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution when approaching MSP and Kusu Island jetties.

The following buoys were laid to aid in the safe navigation of ferries approaching and leaving Kusu Jetty. Ferries shall keep within the channel demarcated by the Kusu Buoy (Fl (2) R10s) and the yellow polyethylene channel buoys.

Kusu Buoy - Port hand buoy
- 01° 13.234'N / 103° 51.692'E
- Red Can buoy Fl (2) R10s

Kusu Marker A - Channel buoy
- 01° 13.521'N / 103° 51.428'E
- Yellow polyethylene buoy

Kusu Marker B - For mooring of ferries (Off Pulau Sakijang)
- 01° 13.403'N / 103° 51.435'E
- Yellow polyethylene buoy

All harbour craft, except ferries operated by Singapore Island Cruise and Ferries Pte Ltd, plying to and from Kusu Island (Pulau Tembakul) shall:
a. Keep within the channel demarcated by the Kusu Beacon (Fl R 2.5s) and the yellow polyethylene channel buoy in position Lat 01° 13'.526N Long 103° 51'.427E when approaching and leaving Kusu Jetty.

b. Only allowed to use the jetty at Pulau Tembakul (harbour craft jetty) for the purpose of embarking and disembarking passengers. This harbour craft jetty is situated about 65 metres northwest of the Main Passenger jetty. Harbour craft berthing there, must not proceed beyond 10 metres southeast of their allocated jetty. No harbour craft shall wait at the entrance of the channel or at the jetty.

Marina South Pier will serve as the transit point for Kusu devotees and visitors to board ferries to the island. Due to anticipated road traffic congestion and limited parking availability at MSP, the shipping and harbour craft communities are encouraged to use public transport during this period.

Controlled entry to the MSP Carpark will be implemented from 0600hrs to 1700hrs on weekends and public holidays throughout the pilgrimage season. Only authorized vehicles with valid parking labels will be permitted to enter and park at MSP Carpark.

Motorists who need to access MSP Carpark during controlled entry periods may apply for authorized access by submitting a request to [email protected], or [email protected]. Applications must be submitted at least five (5) working days in advance and include the following information:
