Industrial action update (13 October)

13 Oct 2022 / Durban, South Africa

Subsequent to the notice served to Transnet SOC Ltd to embark on a protected strike, the parties are still committed to finding an amicable solution to the current industrial action.

With this said, as at the 13 October 2022, the TNPA, Port of Durban currently, is fully manned from a marine service perspective in order to service vessels calling the Port.

We continue to monitor the situation on the ground via our Business Continuity Management Plan and will continue to communicate any developments within our port operations. We are working closely with the relevant law enforcement authorities that have also been deployed at certain points of the Port in order to mitigate any risks.
