Industrial action at port

Qube Ports Darwin have received the first notice of Protected Industrial Action for the Port of Darwin, for seven days starting from 0001 hours on Friday (20 September).

The Maritime Union of Australia have announced:

  • 8-hour stoppage from when the vessel ties up at the berth.
  • Only work 8-hour shifts to be worked.
  • Work only to commence at 0700, 1500 and 2300 hours.
  • No shift extensions.
  • Ban on performance of shift pre-starts.
  • Once the start time is ordered, no variation to the same will be accepted.
  • No call-ins to be accepted outside of allocated shifts.
  • One-hour stoppage of work, every day commencing at 0600 hours.
  • No loading or unloading of any trucks displaying a Qube business logo.
