Increase of surcharges for crude oil & oil product tankers

In line with the significant growth in global trade, improving ships’ economics, waterway development and the enhancement of the transit service, the Suez Canal Authority (SCA) has announced that the surcharge for laden crude oil and oil product tankers will increase to 25% of normal Canal transit fees, up from the 15%, from 1 April 2023.

Surcharges for ballast crude oil and oil product tankers will be 15%, as applied since May 2022.

Surcharges of 15% for laden crude oil and oil product tankers, and 5% for ballast crude oil tanker and oil products tankers, will be applied until 31 March 2023.

These surcharges are temporary and can be either amended or canceled according to market conditions.
