The 2024 Hong Kong International Dragon Boat Races (IDBR) will take place off the Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade between 0700 hours and 2000 hours from 15 to 16 June 2024. Over 170 dragon boat teams from local and overseas with 4,000 paddlers will take part in various races at the IDBR.
The race area is bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (D) and the adjacent shoreline:
(A) 22 deg. 17.837’N / 114 deg. 10.938’E
(B) 22 deg. 17.820’N / 114 deg. 10.950’E
(C) 22 deg. 17.611’N / 114 deg. 10.634’E
(D) 22 deg. 17.671’N / 114 deg. 10.569’E
Mooring buoys will be laid to mark the limit of the race area. Lighters, ferries and launches will make fast to these mooring buoys to enclose the race area throughout the event. During the aforementioned period, no vessels, other than those craft that participating the IDBR or Government launches, will be allowed to enter or remain within the race area. All vessels navigating in the vicinity should keep away from the race area.
Within the race area, 2 pontoons will be moored to the landing steps No. KP029 and KP030 from 1000 hours on 11 June 2024 to 1200 hours on 17 June 2024; and the landing steps No. KP108 will be closed from 1600 hours on 13 June 2024 to 1200 hours on 17 June 2024. Owners and coxswains of vessels are advised to use other landing steps in the vicinity.
