Further industrial action at Qube ports

Qube Ports has received notice of Protected Industrial Action for the ports of Darwin, Brisbane and Port Kembla, for 7 days from 0001 hours on Friday (11 October), as follows:

All members of the Construction, Forestry and Maritime Employees Union whose employment is covered by the terms of the Qube Ports Pty Ltd Port of Darwin Enterprise Agreement 2020 shall engage in a ban on:

  • work on any ship for a period of 8 hours commencing at the time that ship has been tied up to the wharf;
  • work on any shift that is not a shift of 8 hours duration;
  • work on any shift that does not commence at 0700, 1500 or 2300;
  • shift extensions;
  • shift pre-starts;
  • any shift that has a start time that has been varied from the ordered allocation time;
  • call-ins outside of allocated shifts;
  • on loading or unloading any trucks displaying a Qube business logo.

They shall also stage a one-hour stoppage of work every day commencing at 0600, as well as one-hour stoppages of work at 0230, 1030 and 1830 each day commencing at 0230 on Saturday 12 October and ending at 1930 on Friday 18 October.
