Further industrial action announced

Qube Ports have received further notice of protected industrial action at Darwin, Brisbane and Port Kembla, for a period of seven days starting from 0001 hours on 1 November.

In summary, the restrictions are as follows:

DARWIN
1. An 8-hour stoppage from when the vessel ties up at the berth.
2. Will only work 8-hour shifts.
3. Will only commence work at 0700, 1500 and 2300.
4. There will be no shift extensions.
5. A ban on performance of shift pre-starts.
6. Once the start time is ordered they will not accept any variation to that start time.
7. Will not accept any call ins outside of allocated shifts.
8. 1-hour stoppage each day at 0600, from 0001 Friday 1 November 2024. (New)
9. 24-hour stoppage from 0700 Tuesday 5 November 2024. (New)

BRISBANE
1. An 8-hour stoppage from when the vessel ties up at the berth.
2. Will only work 8-hour shifts.
3. Will only commence work at 0700, 1500 and 2300.
4. There will be no shift extensions.
5. A Ban on performance of shift pre-starts.
6. Will not work during meal breaks or other breaks.
7. Once the start time is ordered they will not accept any variation to that start time.
8. Will not accept any call ins outside of allocated shifts.
9. will engage in a ban on the performance of Grade 5, 6 and/or 7 upgrade work.
10. Will only drive up to 15km/h on the wharf for PCC/RoRo ops.
11. Will not transfer between berths and sites once allocated to work.
12. Will not use personal phones for work purposes whilst on shift.
13. From 0001 Friday 1 November to 0700 Sunday 3 November there will be a stoppage of work from 2300 to 0700 each night. (New)
14. 1-hour stoppage of work at 0530,1330 and 2130 daily, commencing 0600 Friday 1 November. (New)

PORT KEMBLA
1. An 8-hour stoppage from when the vessel ties up at the berth.
2. Will only work 8-hour shifts.
3. Will only commence work at 0700, 1500 and 2300.
4. There will be no shift extensions.
5. Will not perform shift pre-starts.
6. Will not work during meal breaks or other breaks.
7. Once the start time is ordered they will not accept any variation to that start time.
8. Will not accept any call ins outside of allocated shifts.
9. Will not accept any upgrades to Grade 7 (Supervisor).
10. Will only drive up to 15km/h on the wharf for PCC/RoRo operations.
11. Will not transfer between berths or sites once allocated to work.
12. Will not use personal phones for work purposes while on shift.
13.A ban on ordering back an employee for a subsequent shift whilst on shift as per EBA clause 1.6.9 of Part B.
14. From 0001 Friday 1 November there will be a stoppage of work from 2300 to 0700 each night. (New)
15. 1-hour stoppage each day at 1200 and 2000, from 0001 Friday 1 November 2024. (New)
16. 24-hour stoppage from 0700 Tuesday 5 November 2024. (New)
17. 24-hour stoppage from 0700 Wednesday 6 November 2024. (New)

Points 16 and 17 total a 48-hour stoppage from 0700 Tuesday 5 November until 0700 Thursday 7 November 2024.
