Three concrete pontoon floating barriers have been established to attenuate the local wind-generated wave at Hei Ling Chau Typhoon Shelter.
The positions of the established concrete pontoon floating barriers and the particulars of the lights are as follows:
Floating barrier 1
Along the north-south direction with approximately 4 metres in width and 100 metres in length within the following coordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (D):
(A) 22° 14.934’N 114° 01.820’E
(B) 22° 14.891’N 114° 01.855’E
(C) 22° 14.889’N 114° 01.853’E
(D) 22° 14.933’N 114° 01.818’E
The particulars of the lights for Floating barrier 1 are as follows:
(i) Latitude 22° 14.933’N 114°, Longitude: 01.819’E, Characteristics FL yellow 5s
(ii) Latitude 22° 14.890’N 114°, Longitude 01.854’E, Characteristics FL yellow 5s
Floating barrier 2
Along the east-west direction with approximately 5 metres in width and 300 metres in length within the following coordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (E) to (H):
(E) 22° 14.917’N 114° 02.029’E
(F) 22° 14.915’N 114° 02.031’E
(G) 22° 14.818’N 114° 01.891’E
(H) 22° 14.820’N 114° 01.889’E
The particulars of the lights for Floating barrier 2 are as follows:
(iii) Latitude 22° 14.819’N, Longitude 114° 01.890’E, Characteristics FL yellow 5s
(iv) Latitude 22° 14.852’N, Longitude 114° 01.937’E, Characteristics FL yellow 5s
(v) Latitude 22° 14.884’N , Longitude114° 01.983’E, Characteristics FL yellow 5s
(vi) Latitude 22° 14.916’N, Longitude 114° 02.030’E, Characteristics FL yellow 5s
Floating barrier 3
Along the east-west direction with approximately 5 metres in width and 300 metres in length within the following coordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (I) to (L):
(I) 22° 14.848’N 114° 02.084’E
(J) 22° 14.846’N 114° 02.086’E
(K) 22° 14.749’N 114° 01.946’E
(L) 22° 14.751’N 114° 01.944’E
The particulars of the lights for Floating barrier 3 are as follows:
(vii) Latitude 22° 14.750’N, Longitude 114° 01.945’E, Characteristics FL yellow 5s
(viii) Latitude 22° 14.782’N, Longitude 114° 01.992’E, Characteristics FL yellow 5s
(ix) Latitude 22° 14.815’N, Longitude 114° 02.039’E, Characteristics FL yellow 5s
(x) Latitude 22° 14.847’N , Longitude 114° 02.085’E, Characteristics FL yellow 5s
Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution and give a wide berth to the concrete pontoon floating barriers.
