Escorting seafarers infected with COVID-19

All security operational staff are hereby instructed to comply with the following with regards to escorting seamen and labourers infected by the coronavirus to hospitals.

1st category: Resident Seaman/Seaman holding business Visa:

  • Upon arrival of seaman of 1st category, Security Officer must secure the letter of undertaking from the company to transfer the patient to the quarantine facility or to the isolation hotels.

  • Ensure that "Seaman Transit Pass" is obtained from Security Gate Pass Office.

  • The Security Officer on duty should provide security patrol to escort the seaman to quarantine facility or to isolation hotels.

2nd category: Transit Seaman:

  • Upon arrival of the patient, secure a letter of undertaking to go to airport or any quarantine facility.

  • Ensure that the Shipping Agent has obtained "Transit Pass" from Security Gate Pass

  • The Security Officer on duty should provide security patrol to escort the seaman to airport or to the destination agreed upon.

3rd category: Transport of labourers infected with the coronavirus.

  • Security vehicle escort must be provided for patient transported via company cars from RLC global Village to isolation hospitals or to quarantine facilities.

Security escort is not required for patient transported via ambulance of Center of Transitional Diseases.
