Drone & missile attack on energy facilities, port operations unaffected

08 Mar 2021 / Ras Tanura, Saudi Arabia

According to the Saudi Arabian Energy Ministry, a petroleum tank farm at Ras Tanura Port was subject to a drone attack coming from the direction of the sea in yesterday (7 March). In the evening of the same day, shrapnel from a ballistic missile fell near a residential area in Dhahran.

No one was injured and no property was damaged in either attack. The Defence Ministry said both the drone and the missile were intercepted and destroyed.

Internal security measures have been taken without affecting operations at Saudi Arabia’s ports, which continue as normal without any added restrictions.
