From 13 May to 30 August, dredging works will be carried out off Jurong Terminal.
According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.042 of 2019, the work is being conducted 24 hours daily - including Sundays & Public Holidays - in Damar Laut Basin, within the working area bounded by the following coordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
1) 01 deg. 17·988'N / 103 deg. 43·666'E
2) 01 deg. 18·150'N / 103 deg. 43·340'E
3) 01 deg. 18·353'N / 103 deg. 43·101'E
4) 01 deg. 18·366'N / 103 deg. 43·112'E
5) 01 deg. 18·165'N / 103 deg. 43·349'E
6) 01 deg. 18·005'N / 103 deg. 43·674'E
Dredging works will be carried out by dredgers, which will be held in position by anchors. Dredged materials will be transported to the designated dumping ground by barges, which will be assisted by pusher tugs.
During the operation, the dredgers and barges will be attended by tug boats which will also be used to shift the dredgers and hopper barges, when required to clear the fairway for vessels to berth or unberth.
Safety boats will be deployed to warn other craft in the vicinity of the working area.
Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.
When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear from the dredger;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 25 (Pasir Panjang Control);
and
e) Communicate with Pasir Panjang Control on VHF Channel 25 for assistance, if required.
