The land depression over South Madhya Pradesh moved west-northwestwards further and lay centred over South Madhya Pradesh and the adjoining area of India (near Lat. 20.8 deg. N and Lon. 80.5 deg. E) at 06am today (12 September). It is likely to move north-northwestwards further and weaken gradually.
Under its influence, deep convection is taking place over North Bay and the adjoining area. Squally weather may affect the maritime ports, North Bay and adjoining areas of Bangladesh.
Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to keep hoisted Local Cautionary Signal No. Three (R) Three.
Under the influence of full moon and steep pressure gradient, the low-lying areas of the coastal districts of Satkhira, Khulna, Bagherhat, Jhalokathi, Pirojpur, Borguna, Patuakhali, Bhola, Barishal, Laxmipur, Chandpur, Noakhali, Feni, Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar and their offshore islands and chars are likely to be inundated by the wind driven surge height of 01-01 feet above normal astronomical tide.
All fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay and deep sea have been advised to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution till further notice. They are also advised not to venture into the deep sea.
