COVID-19 Update (28 August)

PORT STATUS

  • The port of Cape Town has resumed to full operations, reinstating all services and berths. Government have reduced the lockdown restriction level to 2 as of the 17th August.
  • Port operating under Maritime Security level 2.
  • All persons boarding vessels are to adhere to the necessary personal protective equipment required by port and vessels.
  • Cargo operations, bunkering and repair services are all permitted.

OPL’S / SHIPS SPARES

  • Off port limit operations are permitted only for supplying of provisions/stores & ships spares.
  • Ships spares are ongoing, however shipments need to be booked and dispatched early as there are limited flights. At this stage there are still no direct flights to Cape Town, shipments are routed via Johannesburg.

CREW CHANGE

  • Kindly contact GAC South Africa for crew changes within South Africa

PORT AUTHORITIES

  • Immigrations office are only operating between 0700-1900lt. No attendance on board.
  • Customs offices are operating remotely between 0700-2000lt . No attendance on board.
  • Port Health are required to clear all vessels before any operation.
