Coral survey at Lei Yue Mun and Junk Bay

For approximately three months, coral survey involving diving operations will be carried out in the following works areas:

WORKS AREA 1
This area is bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (D) and the adjacent shoreline:
(A) 22° 17.253’N 114° 14.273’E
(B) 22° 17.230’N 114° 14.256’E
(C) 22° 17.267’N 114° 14.195’E
(D) 22° 17.284’N 114° 14.208’E

WORKS AREA 2
This area is bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (E) to (H):
(E) 22° 17.296’N 114° 14.730’E
(F) 22° 17.260’N 114° 14.779’E
(G) 22° 17.163’N 114° 14.697’E
(H) 22° 17.199’N 114° 14.648’E

WORKS AREA 3
This area is bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (I) to (L):
(I) 22° 16.662’N 114° 15.776’E
(J) 22° 16.662’N 114° 15.866’E
(K) 22° 16.527’N 114° 15.866’E
(L) 22° 16.527’N 114° 15.776’E

The works will be carried out by one work boat.

A working area of approximately 15 metres around the work boat will be established. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will be laid to mark the positions of the anchors extending from the work boat.

The hours of work will be from 0900 to 1700 hours. No works will be carried out on Sundays and public holidays. Vessel employed for the works will not stay in the works areas outside the hours of work.

Vessel engaged in the works will display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations.

Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution and keep clear of the works areas at slow speed, bearing in mind there are divers working in the areas.
