Construction of temporary cofferdam

Work is underway until 22 May 2024 to construct a temporary cofferdam west of Pulau Punggol Barat.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.115 of 2023, the work is being conducted between 0800 and 1900 hours including weekends and Public Holidays at the mouth of Sungei Punggol Reservoir, within the working area bounded by the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
1 01° 25.597'N / 103° 52.153'E
2 01° 25.488'N / 103° 52.028'E
3 01° 25.480'N / 103° 52.093'E
4 01° 25.558'N / 103° 52.182'E

The construction of the temporary cofferdam involves installation of silt curtains, sheet piles and guide beams, backfilling of sand and tie-rod installation.

Safety boats will be deployed to warn other craft in the vicinity of the working area.

Craft involved in the works exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 21 (Sembawang Control);
and
e) Communicate with Sembawang Control on VHF Channel 21 for assistance, if required.
