Construction of subsea pipeline to the south of Cheung Chau

For a period of approximately two months, construction of subsea pipeline will be carried out round the clock within the area bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (E):

(A) 22° 11.047’N 114° 04.060’E

(B) 22° 10.130’N 114° 04.424’E

(C) 22° 10.079’N 114° 00.774’E

(D) 22° 10.729’N 114° 00.764’E

(E) 22° 10.767’N 114° 03.438’E

The works will be carried out by one special purpose vessel. One tugboat and two guard boats will provide assistance.

A working area of approximately 600 metres around the special purpose vessel will be established. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights and radar reflectors will be laid to mark the positions of the anchors extending from the special purpose vessel.

Diving operations will be carried out from time to time during the hours of work.

Vessels engaged in the operation will display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations.

Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution and keep clear of the works area at slow speed, bearing in mind there are divers working in the area.
