Construction of seawater intake structure & seawater discharge culvert

The working period for construction works for a seawater structure and seawater discharge culvert in the Banyan Basin has been extended. The work is now being carried out until 3 March 2025.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.76 of 2024, the work is being conducted 24 hours daily - including Sundays & public holidays - within the area bounded by the following coordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
1) 01°15.744'N / 103°41.490’E
2) 01°15.632’N / 103°41.611’E
3) 01°15.568’N / 103°41.553’E
4) 01°15.679’N / 103°41.432’E

Construction works will be carried out using barges assisted by tugboats.

A safety boat will be in attendance at all times to warn and direct craft in the vicinity to keep clear of working area.

Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
1) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area;
2) Maintain a proper lookout;
3) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
4) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 68 (Sinki Control);
5) Communicate with VHF Channel 68 (Sinki Control) for assistance if required.
