Closure of anchorage

The authorities at Port Kembla have advised that the anchorage has been closed to shipping at 0900 hours local time this morning (6 May) due to adverse weather, winds and large swells forecast.

All ships at anchorage had to return back to sea and drift more than 12 NM from the coast. The ships will not lose their turn of arrival or effect the NOR.

The port currently remains open to shipping movements.
