02 Mar 2022 / Brisbane, Australia
An assessment conducted this morning on current conditions where strong river currents and large amounts of debris are still present in the river.
A hydrographic survey was conducted on 28 February but due the turbidity the results were inconclusive. A second hydrographic survey was conducted yesterday 01 March with results pending.
Assessments of on river conditions and debris will continue each day with any decision to recommence the safe movements to and from Fisherman Island will be based on the results of on water assessment along with hydrographic survey data.
When approved to recommence, ship movements will be accessed on a case-by-case basis.
Further assessments and surveys will be required before vessel movements up river of Pelican Banks can be considered.
VTS are working with agents and terminal on these rescheduled movement priorities when movements resume.
