Berthing of cape size and baby cape vessels

According to a trade circular from the Traffic Department of the Paradip Port Trust,

  1. Cape size vessels of 300m LOA, 48m beam, draft up to 14.5m and DWT up to 1,18,000 will be accepted for berthing at CB1, NIOB and PICT berths. The berthing of cape size vessels will be carried out subject to favourable weather conditions and availability of berth in daylight hours only.
  2. Cape size vessels will not be accepted for berthing at General Cargo Berths (EQ3, SQ, CQ1, CQ2 and MPB).
  3. Baby cape vessels (i.e. vessels of more than 230m LOA) will not be accepted for berthing at EQ3 berth wef 1 May 2021. However, such vessels that have already arrived at PPT anchorage on or before 30 April 2021 will be accepted for berthing at EQ3 berth.
  4. Baby cape vessels up to 255m LOA, 45m beam and 12.50m draft will be accepted for berthing at SQ berth.
  5. Baby cape vessels will not be accepted for berthing at CQ1, CQ2, CQ3 and MPB.
