Autonomous underwater vehicle seabed survey

From 5 April to 8 April, an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) seabed survey will be conducted off Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal and Raffles Reserved Anchorage.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.025 of 2022, the survey will be carried out from 0900 to 1800 hours daily within the working area bounded by the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):

Off Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal:
1) 01° 18.582'N / 103° 58.385'E
2) 01° 18.426'N / 103° 58.433'E
3) 01° 18.346'N / 103° 58.121'E
4) 01° 18.505'N / 103° 58.072'E

Off Raffles Reserved Anchorage:
1) 01° 10.033'N / 103° 45.233'E
2) 01° 10.273'N / 103° 45.092'E
3) 01° 10.440'N / 103° 45.375'E
4) 01° 10.200'N / 103° 45.517’E

An AUV based survey will be conducted to collect seabed information and evaluate the AUV sonar’s performance.

A safety boat will be deployed to warn other crafts in the vicinity of the working area.

Craft involved in the survey will exhibit the appropriate local and international day signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 12 (East Control) or VHF Channel 68 (West Control) respectively;
e) Communicate with East Control or West Control for assistance, if required.
