A swimming race around Hong Kong Island will take place from 0300 hours to 1530 hours on 8 November 2024 (Friday). About 30 swimmers, under the escort of guard boats, are expected to participate in the race.
The swimming will start at 0300 hours at the Sandy Bay, then follow a route around Hong Kong Island in a clockwise direction, and finish in the vicinity of Sandy Bay by 1530 hours.
In the event of inclement weather or emergency, the fallback date of the race would be 9 November 2024 or 22 November 2024.
Masters, coxswains and persons-in-charge of vessels navigating in the vicinity of the race route should proceed with caution, giving practical consideration to the contestants.
Compliance with the provisions of the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea 1972 is mandatory.
