Australia’s Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts will be closed between 25 December 2024 and 1 January 2025 inclusive, reopening for business on 2 January 2025. No applications will be processed during the shutdown.
Under the legislated timeframes set out in the Coastal Trading (Revitalising Australian Shipping) Act 2012 (the Act) applications submitted by the following dates will be considered in 2024:
- New temporary licences submitted before 3:00pm AEDT Tuesday 03 December 2024;
- Variation to add new matters before 3:00pm AEDT Friday13 December 2024;
- Variation to authorised matters no later than Friday 20 December 2024.
Applications submitted after the aforementioned dates, but before the following dates may be considered before the shutdown period but it is not guaranteed:
- New temporary licences submitted before 3:00pm AEDT Thursday 19 December 2024;
- Variation to add new matters submitted before 3:00pm AEDT Thursday 19 December 2024;
- Variation to authorised matters submitted before 11:00am AEDT Monday 23 December 2024.
The above timeframes may be longer if a Notice in Response is received and/or if the Delegate requests further information in regards to an application.
In some circumstances, the Delegate may require the full consideration period to come to a decision. Applications submitted after these times will not be considered in 2024.
