Amendments to surcharges for tiers of containers on weather deck

The Suez Canal Authority has issued Circular No. 07/2022 amending new surcharges for tiers of containers on weather deck on normal dues applied 1 May. The surcharge amendment will apply for transits starting from 1 August.

The surcharges will be amended as follows:

1 tier of containers on weather-deck
Surcharge on Suez Canal normal tolls up to transit of 30 July
- Southbound: 5%
- Northbound: 9%
Surcharge on Suez Canal normal tolls from transit of 1 August
- Southbound: 7%
- Northbound: 10%

2 tiers of containers on weather-deck
Surcharge on Suez Canal normal tolls up to transit of 30 July
- Southbound: 8%
- Northbound: 14%
Surcharge on Suez Canal normal tolls from transit of 1 August
- Southbound: 11%
- Northbound: 19%

3 tiers of containers on weather-deck
Surcharge on Suez Canal normal tolls up to transit of 30 July
- Southbound: 11%
- Northbound: 20%
Surcharge on Suez Canal normal tolls from transit of 1 August
- Southbound: 15%
- Northbound: 27%

4 tiers of containers on weather-deck

- Southbound: 18%
- Northbound: 28%
Surcharge on Suez Canal normal tolls from transit of 1 August
- Southbound: 23%
- Northbound: 45%

5 tiers of containers on weather-deck

- Northbound: 41%

- Northbound: 53%

- Northbound: 79%

10 tiers of containers on weather-deck
Surcharge on Suez Canal normal tolls up to transit of 30 July
- Southbound: 37%
- Northbound: 55%
Surcharge on Suez Canal normal tolls from transit of 1 August
- Southbound: 42%
- Northbound: 83%

11 tiers of containers on weather-deck
Surcharge on Suez Canal normal tolls up to transit of 30 July
- Southbound: 39%
- Northbound: 57%
Surcharge on Suez Canal normal tolls from transit of 1 August
- Southbound: 44%
- Northbound: 86%

Over 11 tiers, for each additional tier of containers above the eleventh tier, the surcharge shall be increased by 2%.
