Ambient air quality improvement

As part of the Government of Fujairah’s Sustainable Development Plan, the Port of Fujairah is committed to supporting the drive for improving the ambient air quality in Fujairah by reducing odor emissions related to VOCs. The first step in the process is to identify the root cause of the pun gent odors being reported by Fujairah residents and put in place the necessary mitigating measures. Therefore, the Port of Fujairah are implementing the following procedures.

Effective from Sunday, December 27, all terminals are required to submit a Third Party Certificate of Quality for all vessels loading operations at FOTT and for all products. The Certificate of Quality must address all parameters established in the Port of Fujairah NTM 148 Product Acceptance Criteria related to the particular product.

Effective from Sunday, December 20, Vessel Agents are required to submit directly to FOTT, a Third Party Certificate of Quality issued at the Load Port for all vessels wishing to discharge their cargo at FOTT. The Certificate of Quality must address all parameters established in the Port of Fujairah NTM 148 Product Acceptance Criteria related to the particular product.

Any vessel arriving at Fujairah for discharge without a Third Party Certificate of Quality issued at the Load Port must be sampled at the anchorage by a Third Party Surveyor and a copy of the Certificate of Quality issued directly to FOTT prior to commencing any vessel discharge.

These procedures only apply to trading vessels. Barges are exempt.
