The Australian Institute of Marine and Power Engineers (AIMPE) has notified Smit Lamnalco Towage Australia of work stoppages at Gladstone starting from Thursday 14 October, as follows:
- Six-hour stoppage on all harbour towage from 0700 to 1300
- Six hour stoppage on all harbour towage from 1900 on 14 October to 0100 on 15 October
The above stoppages do not include LNG towage, standby or any port emergency.
Further, Smit Lamnalco advise that they have reached an endorsed agreement with the Maritime Union of Australia (MUA) without the need for them to take industrial action. The agreement is expected to be voted up on Thursday (14 October).
