5th edition of the Dalma Sailing Festival’s 60-FT Dhow Race

The Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club and the Cultural and Heritage Festivals and Programs Committee, Abu Dhabi, are organizing the Dalma Historical Festival in its fifth edition, during the period from 07 to 20 May 2022 on Dalma historical island.

The festival includes a long-distance race for 60-foot Dhows, which will be scheduled during that period, subject to weather conditions, and according to the expected plan.

The Dalma Race is the longest among the 60-foot class of sailing races, with a total race distance of 80 nautical miles (125 kilometers). The race starts from Dalma island passing through seven different islands and ending by Janana Island before landing in the city of Al-Mirfa.

All users of waterways, mariners and maritime operators in Abu Dhabi are prohibited to enter the races and events area during the activities period and are required to exercise extra cautions and keep clear from the Racetrack, signposts and water marks which will be installed during the races’ days.
