Six-time World Match Racing champion Ian Williams and his GAC Pindar team finished the M32 Winter Series in style this weekend by winning the final event in Valencia, Spain.
Although it was the only one of the three-event series that the four-man crew of Richard Sydenham, Pete Nicholas, Ian Williams and Sam Goodchild sailed in, their result put them in overall fifth place. The overall series winner was Sailing Team NL skippered by Pieter-Jan Postma.
Williams says: "It was great for Team GAC Pindar to start the year with a win. We were up against it with some damage sustained on Day 1 of the 3 which put the team under pressure, but the shore crew did a great job getting us back out racing and great support from GAC's guests spurred us on."
