Confirmation of Group’s commitment to compliance in all areas
Following a detailed due diligence review by Ethixbase360, a global leader in third party risk management, the GAC Group has received a valuable Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) credential and verified compliance report.
ESGmetrics is shaped by global standards, legislation, and business critical goals across environmental, social and governance risk areas. It provides immediate assurance of organisations’ commitment to transparent and sustainable business practices.
Extensive review
Ethixbase360 conducted an extensive due diligence exercise covering GAC’s legal structure, reputation screening, company policies, cybersecurity, training and its workforce, supply chain, environmental management. This included assessment of how the Group implements its policies and processes related to bribery & corruption, sanctions & watchlists, money laundering, modern slavery, labour practices, privacy/information and cyber security, health & safety and the environment.
"By completed ESGmetrics and voluntarily disclosing key business, legal and reputational information, GAC is clearly communicating its commitment to commercial transparency and international ESG principles, and helping to pave the way for higher environmental shipping standards" says Peter Sweetbaum, CEO of Ethixbase360.
Welfare, transparency, sustainability
The report noted GAC’s reporting mechanisms for anonymous complaints and ethics concerns, as well as its approach to staff welfare with the provision of trained Mental Health First Aiders.
Ethixbase360’s review also noted transparency and ethical, sustainable sourcing in the company’s supply chain, including third party suppliers and subcontractors which are assessed and approved through the online GAC Supplier Vetting System.
GAC’s Group Vice President, Logistics & Energy, Henrik Althen says: “The positive results reflect our strong commitment to ESG compliance, sending an important message to our customers and underlining our determination to maintain the highest standards in everything we do.”
